About Me

This page is called "about me", but really, it's about you. Your experiences, your challenges, and what might help you move forward. However, a little background might help you understand how I approach this work.

Personal Journey into Therapy

I came to counselling after reaching out for therapy myself during a significant life event. Like many people, I'd spent years believing I was strong enough to manage everything life threw at me without support. It took some difficult experiences to realise that asking for help wasn't a weakness, it was actually one of the most empowering decisions I could make. That process changed my life, and it's what inspired me to become a therapist.

If you're reading this and wondering whether therapy is really for you, I want you to know I've been exactly where you are.

Background and Experience

My career background includes navigating high-pressure environments where showing vulnerability wasn't always an option. I understand what it's like to manage expectations, make difficult decisions about change, and feel isolated when you're struggling but expected to appear strong.

These experiences shape how I work with clients today.

I'm passionate about bereavement support and currently volunteer for a children's bereavement charity working with young people and their families. This work has deepened my understanding of grief and loss in all its forms, and how it shows up differently for everyone.

My Integrative & Creative Approach

My approach is integrative, which means I adapt to what each client needs rather than following a rigid formula. I often work creatively to help bypass the analytical mind and connect with emotions in a different way.

Some clients find this incredibly helpful, others prefer to talk. Either way is absolutely fine. What matters most to me is that you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate whatever has brought you to therapy.

Professional Standards

I maintain my professional development through regular CPD training and clinical supervision, and as a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I work in accordance with their code of ethics. My practice is in line with the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and I am registered as a professional with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

I hold Professional Liability Insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate.
