A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life.
Before we begin working together, I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation. This is your opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what's brought you here, and get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit. There's no pressure or obligation, just an honest conversation about what you're looking for and how I might be able to help.
Integrative counselling means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to create something that works specifically for you. Rather than fitting you into a single method, I adapt the way we work based on what you need and what feels helpful. This flexibility means our sessions can evolve as you do.
At the heart of my practice is a humanistic belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role isn't to diagnose or direct, but to create a space where you can explore, understand and find your own answers. I trust in your capacity for growth and change, and I'm here to support that process with genuine warmth and without judgement.
Talking is just one way to process what you're experiencing. For some people, particularly when emotions feel difficult to articulate, working with tactile materials can unlock something that words alone can't reach. This isn't about making art or being creative in the traditional sense. It's about giving your hands something to do whilst your mind settles, allowing feelings and insights to emerge more naturally. Some clients use these tools throughout our work together, others try them once or twice, and some prefer to stick with conversation. There's no right or wrong way.
Sometimes being outdoors and moving gently can make difficult conversations feel more manageable. Walk and talk therapy takes our sessions out of the consulting room and into nature, combining the benefits of counselling with the calming effect of being outside. Walking side by side rather than sitting face to face can ease some of the intensity, and the rhythm of movement often helps thoughts and feelings flow more naturally. This approach works particularly well for people who find traditional therapy settings too formal or who simply think better when they're moving.
I offer in-person sessions at my practice near Dorchester, online sessions via Zoom, and walk and talk therapy. Face-to-face appointments provide a dedicated physical space away from your daily environment, which some clients find helpful for processing difficult feelings. Walk and talk therapy combines the benefits of counselling with gentle movement in nature, which can ease the intensity of sitting face-to-face and help thoughts flow more naturally.
Online sessions offer flexibility and accessibility, and mean I can work with clients anywhere in the UK. This is particularly helpful if you have mobility concerns, caring responsibilities, live further afield, or simply prefer the comfort of your own space.
All options provide the same level of confidentiality and support. Sessions are available for teens, adults and older adults.
I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, from specific traumatic events to the cumulative weight of everyday stress. Many clients come to therapy dealing with grief and loss, whether that's the death of someone close or the loss of a relationship, identity or life stage. I support people navigating relationship difficulties, working through trauma and PTSD, managing chronic health conditions, and exploring questions around identity and self-worth. You might be struggling with low self-esteem, feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.
I work with neurodivergent clients and warmly welcome the LGBTQ+ community. Whatever you're facing, you don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out.
If what you're experiencing isn't listed here, please don't let that stop you from getting in touch. These are simply the most common reasons people seek support, but everyone's situation is unique. Whatever has brought you to consider counselling, I'd be happy to discuss whether we might be a good fit to work together.
Your first step is a simple phone call. We'll talk through what you're looking for, and you can ask anything you need to know. If it feels right, we'll arrange your first full session. If not, that's completely fine too.
